We’re going to have a fly tying Meetup!
If you’ve ever been to one of our Beers and Barbs tying events, this isn’t that. This will be a more casual gathering with the goal of getting people to tie more flies.
We’ll run this event for two hours, the first part learning a new pattern lead by one of our members, and then we’ll finish our time working on tying techniques or other patterns that we want to learn. Be on time to tie along with the monthly fly selection, then stay for open tying time.
We’ll be meeting in the Kentucky Room at the Newport Branch of the Campbell County Library. This event is free for club members and for any library patron that shows up. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks with lids or caps are permitted, we must clean up after ourselves before we leave.
For May, Keith Haungs will be tying White Rabbit Zonkers. Bass Pro has white rabbit strips and the hook options in stock. I did not check D&H.
Download the material list here.
Keith suggests a #6 hook for this fly.

Thanks for the info. I will have to see if I have any white rabbit fur left around but may need to “trade for some” if you guys have any extra available at the tying time.
I picked up some white rabbit fur from Delamere and Hopkins. I should have a little extra.
Sorry I had to cancel, something came up with with work.
