Life is too short to not enjoy the 70% of earth that is water.
The 2 owners of the Tuckaseegee Fly Shop, Bobby Bennett and Dale Collins along with guide, Shannon Messer will introduce us all to the first fly fishing trail in the United States; Jackson County’s “Western North Carolina Fly Fishing Trail” features some of the best trout waters in the Great Smoky Mountains.
The trail takes you to 15 excellent spots for catching brook, brown and rainbow trout. Not only will our 3 hosts talk about the highlights of the trail, but they will also rate the difficulty of each stream in terms of physical challenges, fishing access and fishing finesse required.
Our 3 hosts say that, “We always pursued fly fishing adventures deep into the mountains of Western North Carolina, Tennessee, North Georgia, and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Out of love for Western North Carolina and plentiful fly fishing opportunities, we moved our families to the high country west of Asheville near Bryson City, NC.
Living and fishing in Western North Carolina, we are close to some of the best fly fishing in the southeast. With towns like Bryson City, Cherokee, Sylva, and Waynesville to enjoy after a long day on the water, there could not be a better place to live and fish.
We are not the average fly fishing guides who are just taking clients out on another routine fly fishing trip. We want to help you advance your knowledge, skills, and overall experience in the sport of fly fishing, and while we are at it, have a blast!
