To all NKFF Members….Bring Your Family – No Need to Register, Just Come !!!

On September 28, from 1-5 p.m. the NKU Research and Education Field Station (REFS) invites you and your family to join us for the annual REFS Nature Adventure Day. This event will have activities including: guided wetlands nature tours and a scavenger hunt (with prizes) through the St. Anne Wetlands (bring rain boots for wetland nature tours), and competitive turtle races. Nature stations with activities such as plant pressing, invasive species intruders, wetland herps and how to identify them, rolly-polly refuges, what’s in your pond?, monarchs and other pollinators, incredible insects, nature (e.g., fish) prints on REFS t-shirts, and others will take place throughout the event. Northern Kentucky Fly Fishers will be there to demonstrate and teach fly tying to imitate natural fish foods and teach fly casting. This event is also part of the international “Take Your Child Outside” or TACO week.
